Support Our Work

We must act quickly to ensure the future of the Owyhee Canyonlands. We have a rare opportunity to protect both this spectacular landscape and a traditional way-of-life, but we must act now. The Owyhee Canyonlands have for too long been one of America’s forgotten landscapes. Its time we gave it the attention and protection it deserves.

What you can do:

Attend an open house forum on the Owyhee Initiative Bill

Get involved in any number of ways

Volunteer/Donate:

Help support the organizations that have worked hard to put together this collaborative proposal. Now our work is stepping up, and you can help! Volunteer opportunities may include helping at a public forum, preparing mailings, tabling at a community event, visiting public officials to show support of the bill, talking to friends and neighbors and more.

With the bill headed to Congress, the financial cost of ensuring that our legislators are well-informed about the benefits of the Owyhee Initiative include: travel expenses to DC for working group members and other supporters, printing, postage and mailing costs, rental fees for holding public information forums and more.

Please help secure permanent protection for the Owyhees and the wild rivers that run through this magnificent desert by volunteering or making a donation to one of the organizations listed below:

The Wilderness Society
Idaho Conservation League
The Nature Conservancy
Sierra Club
