The Omnibus Public Lands Bill in 2009 included legislation to establish the Owyhee Science Review and Conservation Center in Owyhee County to conduct research projects to address natural resources management issues affecting public and private rangeland in the County. Management is to be coordinated with the Tribes, State, and County, and in consultation with the University of Idaho, Federal grazing permittees and the public.
In 2010, Congress appropriated $300,000 to fund the science review program, administered in coordination with the University of Idaho.
